After you register your vehicle in Punjab, the Excise and Taxation Department issues a smart card as proof of registration. This guide explains what the MTMIS smart card is, how the smart card status check works for Punjab vehicles, and what to do if your card does not arrive on time.
What the MTMIS smart card is
The smart card is a durable, wallet-sized card that replaces the old paper registration book. It carries your vehicle’s registration record from the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Punjab.
It serves as the official proof of your vehicle’s registration. Therefore, keep it with the vehicle whenever you drive.
To verify the registration record behind the card, see our MTMIS Punjab vehicle verification guide.
Smart card status check Punjab: how to use the MTMIS portal
You can check the status using your vehicle registration number on the official portal. Open the official MTMIS portal at https://mtmis.excise.punjab.gov.pk, enter your vehicle’s registration number in the verification field, submit the form, and review the record shown for your vehicle. The record confirms the registration details on file; if anything looks wrong, note it down before contacting the department.
Smart card status check Punjab: what to do if your card has not arrived
If your card has not arrived, first check its status again after a few days. Records and dispatch information can take time to update.
If it is still not showing, contact the official helplines: 1035 or 0800-08786. However, never pay an agent or third party who promises to “speed up” your card, and never share your CNIC or payment details with such callers.
