Punjab’s Safe City cameras issue electronic traffic challans (e-challans) automatically for violations like speeding, signal jumping and lane violations. If you drive in Lahore or other covered cities, it is worth checking for challans regularly — unpaid challans can surface later during a sale or transfer.
How to check your e-challan
Check through the PSCA Safe City e-challan portal at echallan.psca.gop.pk, using your vehicle registration number and the other detail the form asks for. This website is an independent guide and is not affiliated with the Excise Department, PSCA, or any government body. Note that e-challan is a separate system from MTMIS vehicle verification — MTMIS shows registration and tax, PSCA shows traffic challans.
If you have a challan
The portal shows the violation, date, location and amount. Pay it through the official payment channels shown on the portal and keep the receipt. If you believe a challan is wrong — for example, the vehicle was not yours at that time, or the plate was misread — use the official dispute channel shown on the PSCA portal and keep copies of everything you submit.
Before buying a used vehicle
Ask the seller about challans and check the PSCA portal yourself. Unpaid challans attached to the vehicle can follow it to the new owner, so factor them into the price or insist the seller clears them before transfer.
Avoid scams
Only use the official PSCA portal and official payment channels. Ignore SMS messages or callers demanding instant challan payment through personal accounts — verify every challan on the portal first.
